KrishiBuddy ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of Indian farmers and agricultural professionals who use our platform. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your email address, name, and password (securely hashed). You may optionally provide your district and crops during onboarding.

Chat Data: Messages you send to KrishiBuddy's AI assistant are stored to maintain conversation history and improve response quality.

Usage Data: We collect basic usage analytics such as pages visited and features used, to improve the product.

2. How We Use Your Information

Provide personalized farming advice based on your location and crops
Fetch relevant mandi prices for your district
Maintain your conversation history across sessions
Improve our AI responses and product features

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We share data only with:

AI providers (e.g., Groq, OpenAI, Anthropic) — your messages are sent to generate AI responses. These providers process data per their own privacy policies.
Supabase — our database provider, which stores your account and chat data securely.
Government APIs (data.gov.in) — we send crop/district queries to fetch mandi prices. No personal information is shared.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with Row Level Security (RLS) policies, ensuring you can only access your own data. Passwords are hashed by Supabase Auth. All connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption.

5. Your Rights

Access: View your data anytime in Settings.
Update: Edit your profile (name, district, crops) anytime.
Delete: Delete individual conversations or request full account deletion by contacting us.

6. Cookies

We use localStorage to store your authentication token and user preferences. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

7. Children's Privacy

KrishiBuddy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
